The Ramayana is the story of Rama. Rama was the eldest son of King Dashratha. He was asked to go to the forest for fourteen years. He obeyed his father. Sita and Lakshmana also went with him. Sita was taken away by Ravana. Rama fought with Ravana. He killed him. He returned to Ayodhaya happily. He began to rule. All were happy in Rama-Rajya.The Ramayana is a sacred book of Hindus. They read it every morning. Rama is workshipped. He is the hero of the book. He is a good son and a good husband too. Sita is an ideal wife. Lakshamana is an ideal brother. We learn much from this book. We know that goodness always wins.
The Ramayana is really a book of great moral value. All should read this book. This can change our life. I am really proud of Ramayana.

Lohri is celebrated on 13th of January every year. It is a holy festival and is celebrated with great joy and happiness in North India. At this time the earth starts moving towards the direction of the sun and people started getting relief from the extreme cold.First lohri is very special for the newly wed couples and the newly born babies. At nigh people usually gather around the bonfire and often sing songs and throw popcorns, til, and puffed rice into the bonfire. People also dance side by side the bonfire and sing their songs for fun.Lohri generally means for calling the families together and enjoy with each other but the history of lohri is little bit different. The history of Lohri is as old as the Indus valley civilisation. Dulla Bhatti, like Robin Hood, robbed the rich and gave to the poor. The people of the area loved and respected him. He once rescued a girl from kidnappers and adopted her as his daughter. His people would remember their hero every year on Lohri. Groups of children moved from door to door, singing the Dulla Bhatti folk-song: "Dulla Bhatti ho! Dulle ne dhi viyahi ho! Ser shakar pai ho!" (Dulla gave his daughter a kilo of sugar as a marriage gift).

Hiiieeee....to all my readers!......Today is 21st November 2010..,i.e. Sunday..is celebrated as Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Birthday!.....
First of all I want to say :- Raj karega khalsa, aakee rehae naa koe, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Guru Nanak Dev Ji.,the first guru, the founder of Sikhism, was born in 1469 in a village in Pakistan. As we know that The birthday of Guru Nanak Sahib falls on Kartik Poornima, i.e., the day of the full moon in the month of Kartik. Their birthday usually falls in the month of November. The celebration of this holy day is celebrated differently at different places....Generally two days of their birthday, Akhand Path(a 48 hrs of continuous reading of Guru Granth Sahib) in the Gurdwaras.
On the day of Gurpurab the day begins with early in the morning with the morning hymns from the sikh sculptures followed bt the kathas and poems praising their Gurus. Following that thier is a langar or a special type of lunch for the people which is arranged by the volunteers in the gurdwaras. The idea behind the free communal lunch is that people should be offered food in the spirit of seva or devotion.
Guru Nanak Gurpurab is celebrated by the Sikh community all over the world and is one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar as the celebrations are more exited in Punjab and Haryana!.

Hii to all my readers.........today i get late on posting this post bcz i was not at home from the morning......but know i have arrived...and started.
Today is Dussera..,,the festival of Hindus which is celebrated on the death occasion of the Raavan who was a evil in the old early times of Ramayan,,,.....It is celebrated all over the India with Great joy and happiness as it brings joy and happiness to all the people of India....
Thats all wht i can say ...for today..and i have also brought a video for you from the dussera ground ,gandhi nagar jammu....bcz i was there in the evening watching the Dussera.
